Katz seeks to remain on City panel

City Commissioner Allan Katz recently announced his campaign for re-election to Seat 5 in the upcoming November election.

On Tuesday, July 18, Commissioner Allan Katz announced his candidacy for re-election to the Tallahassee City Commission. Katz welcomed supporters and outlined his platform.

Commissioner Katz is seeking re-election in order to complete work on programs for Tallahassee he has initiated, such as the Neighborhood Infrastructure Program and Work-force Housing. Additionally, Commissioner Katz is committed to continuing to take a leadership role to create intelligent business and community partnerships. Commissioner Katz also believes that as our community begins making decisions about our future energy needs, we are at a critically important crossroads that will affect our quality of life and that of future generations.

Church honors outstanding community leaders

Tallahassee City Commissioners Allan Katz and Debbie Lightsey were honored for their support of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church’s Frenchtown redevelopment efforts and the Carolina Oaks housing subdivision.

When presenting the award to Commissioner Katz, Bethel’s pastor Reverend R.B. Holmes, Jr. praised his accomplishments:

“We have one of the best cities on planet earth because we’re gifted to have some of the most talented City Commissioners on planet earth. Commissioner Katz was on the cutting edge of the commission. . . We have Carolina Oaks because Allan Katz bought into the vision. Tonight, Commissioner Katz, we want to honor you for your unselfish leadership and spirit of integrity.”
